Contemporary Jazz Featuring Guest performances by: Johnny Kemp Onaje Allan Gumbs Brent Carter Dwight Sills Andre Hayward Multi-Instrumentalist Horace Alexander Young, has released a twelve (12) track CD entitled, “Acoustic Contemporary Jazz”. In addition to Young’s performances on various saxophones and flutes, the recording features contributions from a stellar list of guest performers which includes – platinum selling recording artist Johnny Kemp, trombonist Andre Hayward (Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra), guitarist Dwight Sills, pianist and arranger Onaje Allan Gumbs and Brent Carter (former lead singer with Tower of Power). This project also features new versions of two well established recordings- a heartfelt remake of Luther Vandross’ timeless classic, “Dance With My Father” and “Joan-Capetown Flower”, from the pen of the legendary South African composer-pianist, Abdullah Ibrahim (aka Dollar Brand). The remaining tracks on this recording were written by either Young or by Co-Producer Travis Milner.
